Linguistic quality is a tool created for professional translators for checking the quality of the translated texts. The main purpose of it is to optimize the proof reading and editing process of the translation agency.

Linguistic quality was a request from a translation agency for building a solution that will provide them with an opportunity to minimize time and effort used for proof reading and editing of the texts. This is a web application, but it was meant for the internal use of the company with the possibility of turning into an open-source project in the future.

The logics of the application was the following: general access portal for a translator and editor. Every translator received access to his own profile where he could work on translation and as soon as it was ready this text was submitted to the editor’s department with the status ready for approval. We build the following functionality for them:

• general portal for login in (one pager for login in or registration, secure log in)
• translator profile and panel (registration, personal information, working space,
• translation history, texts storage, text submitting);
• editor profile and panel (registration, personal information, working space, translation
• history, text storage, comments adding);
• file import (files in doc, docx, odt, etc. import to the system);
• e-mail integration (notifications of the important actions visible on work e-mails);
• typo check (integration with a 3-d party typo checker);
• storage integration (integration with a 3-d party storage);
• chat (internal messenger for fast communication).

This application is an innovative vision of the translation that could increase the effectiveness of the process significantly, it required precise documentation and detailed comments from our team because customers considered a possibility of turning it into an open-source product one day.
